Capcom’s new game: Lost Planet 2 was due for release before march ends, but the games developer had decided to delay it to may 18th, in order to avoid the game having to compete with a remarkable number of other top gaming title releases, that are expected to come out around the same time.
Since Capcom announced the delay, many other game publishers have followed suit and set the release date to the very same date. The first to announce the new date was Alan Wake, shortly followed by the new installment in the Prince of Persia series. The last one to release on may 18th will be Red Dead Redemption.
Capcom seems to have gotten the message loud and clear, and recently announced another reschedule for the release of Lost Planet 2. This time the game has been pushed one week forward to may 11th. In the same announcement, a timeframe for releasing the game for PC gamers was announced. According to Capcom the release of a PC version of Lost Planet 2 would follow the console versions, and is expected to be in the stores, come fall 2010.
In order to get the gamers interested in Lost Planet 2, the game developer announced a multiplayer demo of the game is coming out for the Xbox 360 on April 21th, and will be available for PS3 gamers one day later. The demo that will be able to host 16 players, will contain only one map, but will be fully equipped with stats tracking, and chat support.
The game starts ten years after the first part, after EDN III has been transformed from tundras to large forests. The game follows the protagonist through 6 new chapters, along with several non-player characters. Each chapter has different outcomes, depending on the actions that have been taken by the players.
