The Playstation Move – Worth Any Hype?

Posted by Connor on March - 11 - 2010

The Playstation Move is the much expected motion controller that was announced by Sony yesterday. It’s very much like the Nintento Wii remote, in that… Well, it looks almost exactly the same. It’s a wand that you hold and move around to have things change accordingly on-screen. But this one’s black, with a giant light at the end of it. At first, the device looks a little ridiculous… Looks awkward, and a bit more like... Read→

Mac Gaming Gaining Traction

Posted by Connor on March - 10 - 2010

Mac computers have always been shamed by their lack of support from game developers. It’s one of the key arguments against the Mac operating system in all “Mac vs. PC” debates, and there’s nothing anybody can say back. It’s the truth. Well, it WAS the truth. It’s quickly becoming a decent competitor in the gaming world. The most recent and amazing victory in the realm of Mac OS X gaming is the announcement that... Read→

Sony Corporation has just announced a glitch which has knocked PlayStation 3 users off the game console’s online network, and the company is warning that data loss could occur if gamers continued using their systems. Sony said in a blog post Monday that the problem was most likely caused by a bug in the system’s clock functionality, which is reminiscent of the Y2K bug a decade ago. So far this glitch is only affecting older PlayStation... Read→

Apple’s iPad (Tablet) Follow Up – Gaming Device?

Posted by Connor on January - 28 - 2010

Earlier in the week, I posted an article about the Apple tablet (unannounced at the time), and about whether or not it would be a gaming device. Well, it was announced yesterday, with the name for release in 60 (now 59) days. But still, the question remains — Is it a gaming device? The verdict? Well, yes, but not any more than the iPhone is a gaming device. It’s really all up to the third-party developers to bring content to these devices,... Read→

Apple’s Upcoming Tablet a Gaming Device?

Posted by Connor on January - 22 - 2010

Apple has a rumored tablet computer coming up (hopefully to be announced at their January 27th event), and reports are coming in that it may be marketed as a gaming device, at least partially. Apple has been edging their way into the gaming industry via the iPhone and iPod touch devices, due to the App Store’s many quality games from third-party developers. They’re cheap and they’re fun. And it looks like Apple might be shooting... Read→

XBOX 360 Price Cuts

Posted by Dustin on August - 29 - 2009

It’s good news for everybody, Microsoft is dropping the price on it’s XBOX 360 Elite to $300, and it’s Pro to $250. Coinciding with the recently cheaper Playstation 3 Slim. Microsoft denies that it’s price drop was a reaction to Sony’s move, that it was only coincidental. And with the holidays coming up; HALO 3: OSDT (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and other big games planning to be released,... Read→

Playstation 3 Soon To Have Motion Control

Posted by Dustin on August - 8 - 2009

Sony recently revealed details at E3 on it’s highly rumored  plans to add motion control technology to the arsenal of features available on the PS3.   The controller, which looks somewhat like a wand, clearly got it’s inspiration from the Wii, though it sports a color changing light at the tip.   Think of it as a cross between Microsoft’s Project Natal and Wii’s Motion Plus.  Sony claims that it will far surpass the... Read→

Playstation 3 Wireless Keyboard

Posted by GameMaster on December - 27 - 2008

Out of the box, the PS3 console has a full featured web browser as well as built in messaging functions you can use to communicate with your friends. A plain old USB keyboard and separate mouse works OK, but sitting on your sofa with two USB cables extending from your PS3 can be quite annoying. There is however a great solution for this enoyance. The PlayStation 3 Wireless keypad is a small, lightweight keypad that uses a spring loaded clamp to... Read→
