Possible Heavy Rain Movie In The Future

Posted by Connor on February - 28 - 2010

Heavy Rain is a popular recently released Playstation 3 game that plays out as sort of an interactive movie. You make choices that affect what goes on in the game and, ultimately, how it ends. It’s got a runtime of around nine hours altogether – time enough to explore all the details of the plot and develop the characters to a point where you actually feel for them. But how would this work in a 2-2.5 hour-long scenario, on the silver... Read→

Plants vs Zombies On The iPhone Makes Devs Rich

Posted by Connor on February - 25 - 2010

PopCap Games is a relatively popular game company, their most well-known games being Peggle, Bejewled, Plants vs. Zombies. Well, the first two had been ported to the iPhone/iPod touch quite some time ago, and Plants vs. Zombies has just made its way onto the platform. PopCap has made their roots in the PC gaming industry with their roster of games, but they’re not shy to huge success in the App Store, either… Both Bejeweled 2 and Peggle... Read→

Steam Beta Updates Client, Hints At Future

Posted by Connor on February - 24 - 2010

Recently, a new beta client of the popular PC gaming platform Steam was released. It includes many interface updates, including it running on a WebKit rendering engine instead of Internet Explorer, both in the Steam client itself and on the in-game browser. The client looks very nice. It’s a refreshed look, and it also fills many needs in the community. (One being that now, when you’re on the page to purchase a game, it will tell you... Read→

Assassin’s Creed 2 DRM Is Excessively Ridiculous

Posted by Connor on February - 20 - 2010

Digital Rights Management (herein DRM) has been taken to greater, more ridiculous heights as of late, and Ubisoft’s announcement about the DRM in place for Assassin’s Creed 2 just ups the ante. DRM is put in place to deter piracy across many different types of media. Does it work? Of course not! If pirates want something for free, they will get it. Simple as that. All DRM does is hurt the people paying for the media. That means that the... Read→

Starcraft II Beta Launched!

Posted by Connor on February - 18 - 2010

The beta for the ultra-super-duper hyped real-time strategy game, Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, began yesterday. As sc2blog.com said in an early impressions post, Blizzard has delivered. Thousands of people have already downloaded and installed the StarCraft 2 Beta, the Battle.net 2.0 platform is online and fully operational (where it counts), maps are downloaded swiftly, and finding a match takes seconds. This sounds promising. The full game is... Read→

Now after high anticipation and much excitement Activision has finally brought us Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 which has completely blown away the original Modern Warfare game. Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun Now Freeware

Posted by Connor on February - 13 - 2010

Command & Conquer is a popular series of real-time strategy games that has an upcoming release. To ease the pain of the fans worldwide, the developers have chosen to make an older game in the series, Tiberian Sun, completely free. You can download it from their website. Personally, I’ve never checked this series out, aside from their iPhone installment. That game’s amazing, though, so I imagine that a game from that series would be... Read→

Heavy Rain – What’s With All The Hooplah?

Posted by Connor on February - 12 - 2010

Heavy Rain is an upcoming PS3 exclusive title that’s causing waves of discussion across the Internet. The game is somewhat shrouded in mystery, but everybody knows that it has a great story to tell. Today, the demo was released on the Playstation Network and I got some time to sit down with it. It was a bit disappointing, however, as it only contained a tutorial, and two unrelated missions that don’t hint much at the story and also don’t... Read→

Sonic 4: Returning To The Second Dimension

Posted by Connor on February - 11 - 2010

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has recently been announced. Hype for the game has been building steadily, and I’m personally incredibly excited for its imminent release. The original Sonic games for the Nintendo Genesis were my childhood addictions. I played the crap out of every single one of those games, then went back and played them again. As soon as the series broke out into the third dimension, I felt that it had lost its roots and I had completely... Read→
